Hammersmith homes and where the bathroom sits
Mansion flats around Brook Green and Hammersmith Road usually have solid floors, a bathroom that is internal or on a lightwell, and a soil stack shared with the flats above and below, so ventilation, the route for new pipework and the building's rules come first. Converted houses off Hammersmith Grove and in Brackenbury Village tend to have the bathroom in a former bedroom or the rear addition, with timber floors and long waste runs. Around Ravenscourt Park the family houses often need the main bathroom to serve several people at once, which makes the layout conversation about a bath, a separate shower and storage in the space available.

Everything starts at the site visit: the condition of the room, what is under the floor and behind the walls as far as it can be seen, the route from the street to the bathroom, and the layout and products you have in mind. From that we write a quotation that describes the work item by item and states who supplies what. Buying your own tiles and fittings is fine; so is asking us to supply them. A separate designer, if you want one, is recommended and paid for separately.
Conservation areas, skips and parking in Hammersmith
Hammersmith and Fulham Council lists conservation areas including Brook Green, Hammersmith Broadway, Ravenscourt and Starch Green and Bradmore. Because a bathroom renovation happens inside the building, conservation area status is usually irrelevant to it; it becomes relevant only where the project adds or alters a window, a rooflight or an external flue or vent, and then the individual address, not the neighbourhood, decides. A skip on a Hammersmith and Fulham road is licensed through the skip company for a minimum of 14 days, with a bay suspension where it occupies parking and at least five working days' notice for any renewal; details on the council's skip permit page. Budget and timescale for a Hammersmith bathroom
Allow around £15,000–£25,000 as a total budget for a complete bathroom renovation, covering labour, building materials, tiles, bathroom fittings and finishes. Products you buy yourself are part of this total. This is a planning range, not a minimum spend or a fixed quotation. Room size, layout and product choices affect the cost. On site, a full renovation usually takes between two and four weeks depending on what is agreed. Before that come preparation and product ordering, and the start date is fixed once deliveries are known. After handover you still deal with the same person: if anything needs looking at, you contact the owner directly and a visit is arranged where it is needed.
