Brentford's two kinds of bathroom
In the newer apartment blocks the bathroom is usually internal, on a concrete floor, with a developer specification that was adequate rather than chosen. A full renovation there is about a better layout in the same footprint, proper ventilation and a finish you actually picked, and it runs to the building's rules: working hours, a booked lift, deliveries through the service entrance and the managing agent's conditions. We handle that planning with you before the start date.
In the Victorian terraces off the Half Acre and the Edwardian houses around Boston Manor the bathroom is in the rear addition or at the top of the stairs, with a timber floor and the soil pipe on the outside wall. The decisions are about whether the bath stays, where a shower goes and how to add storage without blocking the window.
A typical Brentford job
A developer bathroom in a riverside apartment: internal, white, serviceable and never chosen by its owner. The strip-out takes it back to the slab and the stack connection; the new room gets a walk-in shower with a linear drain, a wall-hung WC on a frame, a vanity with drawers, a ducted extractor that actually clears the room and lighting on two circuits. The lift is booked, deliveries use the service entrance and the managing agent's hours are kept.

What a Brentford quotation covers
Everything starts at the site visit: the condition of the room, what is under the floor and behind the walls as far as it can be seen, the route from the street to the bathroom, and the layout and products you have in mind. Conservation areas, skips and parking in Brentford
Hounslow Council's conservation area appraisals include St Paul's Brentford and Boston Manor. Internal work of this kind is not normally affected by conservation area status. The exception is any change to the outside of the building, such as a new window, rooflight, flue or vent, which is checked against the individual address. A parking space needed for a skip or deliveries is reserved through Hounslow Council's suspension form at least ten working days ahead, charged per space per day, with a separate skip permit if a skip stands on it.
